Marion that is lovely. Did you do the wreath embroidery? Rhonda there will be a great selection of WHs for this swap! Kassaundra - did you decide on how you are finishing up yours?

Jnct14 your quilt is exquisite! I love how you combined redwork with such a "zippy" border. It is such a great combination of reds and pinks. Well done!

Well, I picked the embroidery design ... does that count? LOL ... I have a Husqvarna Topaz 30 so it does it for me!

I got all four blocks done last night ... two with the embroidered middle, and two with the fabric.

Since it's so freaking cold outside (-40 with the windchill - and predicted for the rest of the week and weekend) I'll be able to get it all done it no time.

QUESTION: It will be about 50x60 when I'm done ... is that way too big???

JNCT, no not exactly. I kinda like the idea of the couple of "lines of wind" scattered around the block but not sure if that will carry the idea or just look unfinished or strange. I was looking at the McTavishing, but very unsure of my fmq skills, and don't want to over power the simplicity w/ clutter for clutter's sake. I was looking for my "hanger" idea, but haven't found what I had in mind yet. The hanger idea doesn't worry me I have a back up plan but it would not be "reversable" w/ the back up plan.

As long as it's not a lap quilt I don't believe it's considered too big. I love it.

I defined the size as larger than a mugrug and smaller than a lap quilt. Online I found this for size

between 52″ – 68″ or 132cm x 173cm wide and the length can be from about 52″ – 78″

But there are lots of posts about lap quilts being any size you need it to be.
The only reason I put any quidelines for size was because I had to put some sort of limit.
Don't stress over the size!! Anything is fine.

Do keep in mind these will be hung on a wall and not on a bed so the weight of it will be an issue also and wall space for some might be limited. The larger the wh the harder it is to hang and to find a place to hang it. Just my thoughts on this.

However there are no hard and fast rules about size. My guidelines are just a suggestion not a strict rule. So don't stress over size.

It is beautiful, such fiery colors. How I understand the rules it should be okay size wise.
