No current pic, but found what they look like. I used red felt and a pearl for the ones I made.

Lovely embroidered angels. Did you use a turned wooden body and head?

I have also been looking at ideas. This will be my second time I think of doing this swap.

I'm thinking of trying my hand at those 'no sew' folded quilty ornaments. I have a pattern for them and I think they look so cute! I need to buy the styrafoam balls and the tiny pins still though.

Welcome to the board Sunny! I've done this swap for 3 or 4 years and really love it!

I've got my ornament all planned out, just waiting to find if my recipient has any special color preferences. Can't wait to find out who I'll be making for!

No, I did not use a turned wooden body and head, the way the pattern goes, it is a felt body underneath, I just happened to have owned some red felt and made the body. Then I used a pearl because I did not have any wooden beads at the time. Then you thread the string thru the body, embroidery lace, and pearl head.

Thank you. I did manage to find these designs on Advanced Embroidery and I saw the pictures of the 3D angels there with the felt under skirt and pearl for the head. It is just that the ones in the picture you added looked like they were displayed over a turned wooden cone a with a wooden head. I thought that would also be a novel idea. I have made FSL Angels from other digitizers and have used a pearl for the head also but have never put an under skirt on them.
