Mine are all cut and ready to go to the post office in the morning. I chose my favorites. :P

KarenR 11-16-2010 02:41 PM

Hi - I got my sent in today. I think the ones I picked out would be festive - if not they are beautiful. I had soo much fun - going to the quilt shops and Joannes looking. I found two of them at quilt shops and one at JOAnns. I went to three quilt shops for the first time. You can never go into a quilt store without buying. I'm sure someplace that the rule.
I hope you will love them too!

I had to send mine in a Tyvek mailer - costed $5.05 - the post office was out of large flat rate envelopes, and the three packs fitted so nice in that mailer.

Momma_K 11-16-2010 03:39 PM

Hey Yall!

I got mine off this morning. I wanted a Tyvek but I wanted something sturdier that wouldn't bend so easy. I got a .99 10 x 12 mailer. Perfect fit for two sets and the return mailer. I was going to do cash for return postage but she highly advised against it, so she put three different stamps on it equaling I think it was $2.97 plus the .80 for delivery conformation. I printed my address labels but put the wide packing tape over it to keep dry in case of rain. You know, I didn't even know they made $1.00 postage stamps! Ya learn something every day! I even remembered to staple my samples to the bags! OH I'm so tickled! I can't wait to get the others in December!! Linda your the greatest for doing this, it has to be a headache in all but be proud of yourself, this is a good thing you do! Oh I let my mother see them before I mailed them, she thought they were very pretty and had a lot of fall coloring in them. Cool! One is called Mullberry, the other is Rust. Thats all I'm saying, I've already said to much!!

You're not crazy, you just like a challenge!

gardner 11-17-2010 01:13 PM

what does that mean and how do you become 'a regular here'? this is all so new to me!

and... i just ordered a book on layer cake quilts as this is also 'new' to me... any other ideas or suggestions on patterns or just use the fabric as a color stash for other projects?

thanks for your ideas...

gardner 11-17-2010 02:06 PM

http://www.50plusfriends.com/cookbook/

hello everyone... while we're waiting for our fabric to return, this is a great site for recipes, and crock pot recipes too... see what you think...

im not sure but i think you need to have posted/replied to so many topics in a week/2 weeks to become 'a regular' .. you need to continue to post/reply to keep your status tho..

Im using mine for scrappy quilts... I've been buying nickel and dimes scrappy books so Im getting some ideas from there..

you are right... i just looked up 'help' on the top menu and that's what it said... i'll probably not be able to attain or maintain that level with work, but will try... i am so addicted to this site and your swap! oh yea, and the recipe section...

Momma_K 11-17-2010 03:58 PM

I didn't read or at least pay attention to the posting so many notes but all I seen was being on here for the first two weeks as a new member, after that you get the title of A Regular Here. Outside of "MOM" thats the best title I've had in a long time! HA!

I found or I'll say have been going to a sight that has LOADS & OODLES of patterns. I found one that is great for Batiks. I may use that one for my blocks I get in Dec.

http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html

it's the....Batik Bedazzler ... 7" Paper Piecing!

If you go to the block where it gives you sizes of blocks you'd like to do, go to the 7". Look for Batik Bedazzler. I think it's pretty and an endless variety of colors to use.

(The sight is run by Marcia Hohn Quilter's Cache. I had to say all of that for sake of her copyrights, only fair....) I would send a picture but again not sure about the copyright thing.

It's not really a site like what we have here but it's still great. If you are on the main page there are other links but this is the main one with all the patterns. Hope you enjoy!

Those are all great patterns. I think I like the last one the best though. I don't have any idea what I'll end up making. I guess I need to see what I get back first.

EC 11-19-2010 12:40 PM

Posted mine today. I had added tape to the sides in hopes that it wouldn't get ripped open. I was told at the P.O. that I wasn't supposed to add any tape. Package was supposed to be no more than 3/4" thick and should be able to be closed with the adhesive strip only(hence the flat rate). It's on it's way, but the lady said they would probably be cracking down before long. She didn't add any tape to the closure but put a couple of fragile stickers on it ??? hope it arrives safely!

Thanks, I'll look it up... never made anything with curves so it might be a way to learn something new too...

Wow thats odd. I took mine to the PO and the woman helped me a lot. Even told me how cheap to go and still arrive safe. She gave me a wide roll of clear tape and scissors and told me how to pack it. Maybe it just depends on who's waiting on you. Some people 'eh?! But I'm sure you're will be just fine.

I think her twin works at our post office. I wait until she goes to lunch and go in to the post office. The other worker is just so nice and helpful. :)

Oh no, triplets  We have one at our PO, too.

I got told about the tape on an envelope I sent to another gal here on the board and that I'd probably get the envelope back (but I didn't). It arrived in 3 days.

EC 11-20-2010 07:24 PM

When I sent my package for Luv's "I Spy" swap, the other clerk at the same P.O. put additional tape on the envelope for me, at his recommendation. C'est la vie! You win some, you lose some! Everyone's doing their job.

lauriejo 11-20-2010 07:43 PM

Mine was supposed to be there today, but for some reason it is in Kansas City still?????

maine ladybug 11-20-2010 07:46 PM

Mine should have been there by today at the latest. I sent it Priority on Tuesday.
