I continue to be amazed at the beauty of each round that is added to all the quilts. Any of these quilts could have a pattern written for them and they would sell like hotcakes. I feel like I have been to a training academy for how the best of the quilters create beautiful works of art. Kudos to all of you for the wonderful creations!

Bugaroo 10-14-2020 07:00 PM

Carriem, love the fabric. You did really well at the quilt shop!

Macybaby, Oh My Goodness. That is gorgeous! I love the scalloped effect. It could be a show quilt!

Bugaroo 10-14-2020 07:04 PM

Macybaby, I am contemplating your final round. I need some direction.... mainly what color do you want added to this final round? I was thinking about pulling some yellow back in with a black print that includes bright colors? What do you think? Any requests?

Thanks

LAF2019 10-14-2020 07:17 PM

TG's quilt is gorgeous! great finish to it Macybaby, and fabulous additions from all the others, too!

I love how this quilt has turned out! Don't have a good place to get a full picture of it, so hopefully these will work.

WOW!!! That is awesome.

Oh Macybaby, I just love that border!

This has been such a treat to watch the quilts grow and change.

If anyone from the thread (or knows anyone who would like to join), I'm looking for 9-patches to be sent to me, if I know they are coming I can hold on but otherwise plan on putting together the squares I receive next weekend.

And the hubby informs me that tomorrow is our 16th wedding anniversary, I'm the one terrible about remembering dates. We met on-line playing a game in February 2001, so our 20 year meeting anniversary is coming up. Don't remember the exact day, but I do remember that first meeting because he was a jerk with an unusual name... he doesn't remember because he was just being himself! I was already 40 with a 13 year old son, one of my jokes is that it took a lot of toads before I found my Todd, but I just adore him. Even if sometimes he interferes with my quilting time, he is immensely supportive of me in all ways.

Macybaby 10-15-2020 06:23 AM

Congrats on the upcoming anniversary Iceblossom! I forgot about mine this year, and at the start of October I was reminding my husband it was DD's birthday the end of the month. Then I remembered our anniversary was also in October - the next day! This was our 41st, so we've been together for some time. We got engaged our senior year in High School.

Bug, I'd love for you to pull some of the other colors out. I went with a colorful center hoping for a lot of color, and currently there is a lot of blue so pulling a bit more of the other colors out would be great. So far I've loved all of your rounds, so I don't expect I'll feel differently about this one.

BTW - Jaba's top is suppose to be delivered today.

I'm planning on doing some painting and re-arranging in my sewing studio this weekend, then I'll be getting back to sewing!

Macybaby, the final round is awesome, and Carriem love the fabric selection as well. Thanks Givio for the avatar tip, I've been frustrated because I thought it was the profile pic, I've tried multiple times and gave up. Finally I have the quilt displayed. Macybaby, I also enjoyed seeing the antique sewing machine display, it looks fantastic. I am literally looking at shelving this month to start my display and seeing yours is seeing a thing of beauty. Thanks for posting that in the background. ❤

I've attached the revised borders for Mary's compass quilt, since her grandson is going to be the happy recipient, I took off the yellow border and changed it to a deeper yellow since the prior yellow wasn't vibrant enough IMHO, so there are two new sides. I also chose a deeper purple for the purple spelling correction border, (apologies Trisha, so happy I was corrected in time) since it will be going to a boy. So now the colors are much deeper and saturated. I got it done about an hour ago and I'm off to the post office in the nick of time with 9-patches for Iceblossom as well.

My "Todd" was located on November 2, nearly 7 years ago. He has a saying "second is best." And we met on 11-2. Funny how the universe will make the joke out of a synchronicity. Congrats & happy anniversaries, I feel your joy and gratitude ;-)

Hugs all!

maryb119 10-15-2020 12:12 PM

Reba! Thanks for what you did! I was happy with the first version but I like this one too! So will grandson.

Thanks Barb for those super-kind and flattering words of encouragement. Its so nice to hear that. The encouragement we have received helps us stay inspired and driven to make works of art for each other. Hugs and stay safe!

Happy Anniversary, iceblossom! We celebrated 35 years last June. He is my Todd.

Bugaroo 10-15-2020 03:09 PM

Reba, great color match! Looking so good.

Happy anniversary ICE and wishes for many many more happy years!

Macybabay, I found a lovely Ombre pink. It starts with medium pink and goes to a purple burgundy but mostly medium pinks. Then it has gold splotches and specks in it. It matches perfect. Now I just have to figure out what kind of blocks to add! Life is full of decisions!

Bugaroo 10-15-2020 03:40 PM

Macy, another question??? Right now your quilt is measuring 60 square. Do you want/need it to be 72? Remain a square? Or is it flexible?

So to ask so much but since it's the last round, I wanted more information.

Jaba had completed all the friendship blocks and her son sent them with the center. I attached them to Monas quilt and they went on smooth as silk. Here is a sample as I didn't have anyone to hold it up!! Went thru my stash but although I had a few pieces that would work - nothing large enough. Oh well off the to the LQS who loves to see the wip!

carriem 10-16-2020 12:57 PM

Happy Anniversary Iceblossom. I too have a Todd...we've been married 23 yrs.

maryb119 10-16-2020 03:51 PM

travelinggramm, great job on Jaba round. It looks really nice.

Has anyone heard from Jaba's son about how she is doing?

LeeAnn sent me a photo today of the super darling round she added to my quilt... Take a look! THank you, LeeAnn for your beautiful work.

maryb119 10-17-2020 05:32 AM

LeeAnn...great border! It adds so much!

Rebaquilts 10-17-2020 07:41 AM

Love the border LeeAnn, and travelinggrama, thanks for showing those blocks. Looks very nice already. ❤️

givio 10-17-2020 08:18 AM

Another border picture! That was a ton of applique, LeeAnn! I'm looking forward to taking a closer look at this top. I had an idea for what I wanted to do for my round since I saw this center. Finally, it's my turn to add to it, and I haven't changed my mind. Now, I just have to decide on what fabrics to use for the pattern I've planned. :-)

Do what ever you want - I've no specific plans, so feel free to add whatever works for you - and it does not need to stay square.

Iceblossom 10-18-2020 07:09 AM

Once again, more beautiful work done by everyone.

Well, it hardly seems believable but my last box arrived yesterday (coming from Rebecca before it goes to Mary), I'm waiting to open it at a quiet me-moment in a bit. Hubby and I are having a nice weekend together, nothing fancy but time together is precious too.

Macybaby, I thought I posted this yesterday but I don't see it. This is the colors I found at the quilt shop. Love the quilt shop!

Macybaby 10-18-2020 12:11 PM

That is very pretty fabric!

Trying to get motivated to get back to organizing - looking at pretty fabric helps me want to get back to work because the sooner I get the room back together, the sooner I can sew!

TG thanks for finishing Jaba's round. Friendship stars are one of my favorite.

LeeAnn 10-19-2020 03:52 PM

Givio, I love the addition to Reba's quilt! It looks great!

givio 10-19-2020 06:25 PM

Thanks, LeeAnn. :-)

Only Mona's top, with the round 4 sewn on it, is left to add to my QB album, so I hope to see a picture of it posted. It will have the friendship blocks added to it.

On to our last round, girls! I have my round 5 planned, I just need to execute it-- then robin will fly home! It's so exciting! :-))))

travelinggramma 10-19-2020 06:32 PM

I cant really see the addition to SBG quilt. Any closeip of all the people. Mind boggling to be sure

sewbizgirl 10-19-2020 07:19 PM

I got Reba's quilt from Givio. After pondering a bit, I found the perfect fabric and got my idea for her final round. Exciting! Can't wait to do it.

Mona G 10-19-2020 07:31 PM

Worked on Carriem's quilt today. Auditioned 3 different options. I think I have it figured out.

carriem 10-20-2020 03:41 AM

I started on my 1st idea for Bugaroo's quilt over the weekend....just doing one side to make sure it comes together , then I'll go back and make the other 3... I am still trying to decide what to do in the corners for sure...

Rebaquilts 10-20-2020 05:55 AM

progress

I've been contemplating Iceblossom's border, and last night, I picked up some more freezer paper to start on the patterns. I was going through my stash and found some stone motif fabric, which will be perfect for what I've planned (hint hint). For you cat lovers out there, and in keeping with the crop circles and airplanes, a new line figure was discovered yesterday on the Nazca plains, a cat on the side of a hill ;-) I thought that was pretty cool, 2000 years of kitty lovers. Hugs all!

Bugaroo 10-20-2020 09:17 AM

Seems like everyone is percolating ideas. The suspense of waiting for pictures!

Oh I certainy love my local quilt store. I went in there with Mona's round and asked about a fall green color. I had looked at the "green" area, and batiks. So the dear gentleman says I think I have it, he moves a few rolling racks (the place is really small) and there is the material from Australia. There is only one green and it is on the bottom corner. I pull it out and wow! This green leaf is amazing - no way would I have seen it.! I get very excited about fabric! Now to play

Mona G 10-20-2020 10:26 AM

Ohh, green is one of my favorite colors!!!

maryb119 10-20-2020 12:00 PM

Travelinggramm, that green print is perfect! I can't wait to see what you do with it.

I finished the last round on LeeAnn's quilt this afternoon. It is ready to be mailed home. I hope you like it LeeAnn. Can we go ahead and mail these quilts home when they are finished or should we wait until the actual mail date?

Mona G 10-20-2020 01:34 PM

Maryb it looks fabulous.

sewbizgirl 10-20-2020 02:13 PM

Congrats, MaryB... great finish!
