Bugaroo, I like your fabric/colors better than the Evergreen one.
Two more rounds done, great work girls! :-)

I love your round, Jaba! Beautiful colors and design.

Just me checking in for the day. I spent a bit of time yesterday cleaning up after myself instead of jumping into the next project. It was a good thing to do! Was getting a bit deep in the cutting fluff...

I'll be making the units needed for the Frolic UFO I agreed to finish and by the time I do that it will be just about time to get my next round. I'll admit -- I've got no ideas on what to do yet when that comes to me but I'm turning over a few thoughts.

Today I'm picking up a vintage machine I got from an Auction site. It's cool, but I just need the foot pedal. I had a replacement vintage foot put on my Remington and it was doing ok with masks, but when I sewed for an extended period the pedal started making scary crackling noises and I unplugged it from the wall and just don't feel safe with it. As ratty as the top of the case is, it's better than the case I currently have which is held together with tape and good luck, don't know if it will fit or not but chances are good it will.

This is the first time I've won a bid through this site, I've bid on many things but I'm cheap :) I first found them about a year ago through a posting on Craig's List. Typically I can find this sort of machine at the thrift stores for about $10-20, but machines were snatched up for mask making and the thrift stores have been closed for the last couple of months.

They specialize in estate type sales, pictures are posted and bids are made. The money is collected through the site, nothing will change hands today other than the merchandise. If you bid and don't pick-up, you are out the money and not allowed to bid through the site again. Lots of directions on proper mask wearing and safety precautions -- I have an assigned 5 minute time slot to pick up my purchase.

That's cool you found an online auction site that is near where you live so you don't have to pay shipping. I like your machine. It looks like the vintage mine is. Mine is a mauve/pink color and a Kenmore and in a nifty cabinet with a chair included.

I don't feel bad about taking the foot pedal off a broken machine in a broken case, I'm attached to my Remington (same era in the dual beige tones) more than fixing up this machine but I'll offer the body to my sewing repair guy because it does have a good look and just needs a cleaning, belt and now foot pedal :p The repair guy would have certainly replaced it had I asked him to, and the problem only became apparent on a long sustained seam (putting together a back) so I'm sure he checked it. But they've been so busy and the only reason I had him do it before is because I didn't have access to any old machines with the thrift stores closed, I rather like doing the work myself. If I was wanting a good machine, there is a lovely Kenmore?/Singer? in a stand probably 60s/70s with accessories current price under $10 also near by, but I'd feel bad taking just the foot pedal off something like that, besides not the right vintage.

The way this site works is it is pick up only, no shipping. It is the responsibility of the buyers to bring their own boxes, packing materials, etc. It's sort of a hybrid between ebay and craig's list with no cash on anyone, you can do your own photos or you can hire people to do it, is often estates. The site takes a small commission/charge for the hosting and technology.

Jaba -wowser. you always amaze me. Your sense of color and style changes the whole quilt and makes it awesome. You can mail to me anytime. I am not going anywhere now.

Jaba - I really like the round you added to Bugaroo's quilt! it's so fun to see the rounds as they progress. And since you are wrapping up that one, I've got Carrie's ready to ship off to you as soon as you are ready for it.

Here is Carrie's quilt with the round I added.

I'm going to take a break and pull weeds for a while, I find that one of the most relaxing things, and I get to enjoy looking at all the pretty flowers that are blooming right now.

Great job, macybaby!!

Macybaby...great job!! I really like the break of the little white/teal triangles between the borders.

What a fun quilt this is turning out to be! :) The cabbage leaf/flower corners are so vibrant (purple is a favorite color of mine) and now another round on too....yay! Can't wait to see what gets added next.

Not sure if I'll get a chance to do any sewing this weekend. I helped with some yard work this morning, so should probably rest my wrist the rest of the day...trying so hard to be good.
