The birds waiting for their breakfast on the fence is so sweet!

So is: They always made sure part of them was touching part of me.
How cute! These must be grandchildren?

I feel like a winner today because I thought of something to give my youngest grand for his birthday on the 10th! All of my grand's birthdays are Jan 10-April 1st. And they already have everything, plus their birthdays are coming right after Christmas, where they got tons more! But I realized the youngest, Gentry, did not have a bike he could ride on his own. So I found a cool tricycle with room for cargo and bought it. Isn't it ridiculous when children already have so much that you can't even find a gift to give them?

Out cutting and stacking firewood today!

Cold here too, but not as cold as the last polar vortex. Just a long string of days that will be in the teens at night and 20's during the day. Doable, doable. Better than below zero. ;) I am not allowed to have a bird feeder, condo association rules - grrrr, but when no one is watching I will scatter thistle seed on my patio to feed the little guys. Squirrels and other small critters don't care for thistle.

Focusing on finishing a quilt for a hospice center and adding the binding to a 2.5 squares quilt. Hoping to get some unfinished projects done before Boom Time. Projects are stacking up in my To Finish basket. That is one of the down sides of cleaning up my space...........I find more unfinished work. :(

That's always the danger of cleaning... finding unfinished work! It's lurking everywhere, just waiting to be discovered.

It’s only in the 60’s here which works out great more sewing time.

Yesterday after ironing my fabric I went to cut it for the next boom. Another senior moment came across me and I turned my fabric every which way. Just couldn’t figure out which way to cut the 18” and keep my creatures going the direction I wanted. Put it aside and went and read a book. Will take it up to the clubhouse and cut it on one of the large mats so as not to get confused again

Hope to sew lattice on my boom blocks today

50 degrees here, but supposed to be dropping. All next week we will be in the 40's. That's real winter for Mississippi! More firewood cutting today.

Got several quilts to quilt today. Next Saturday is donation day, so I need to get some ready to go.

Keep warm, everyone!

Good evening. Had a good day piecing, piecing and piecing. And coffee. I had quite a few cups that will probably keep me awake well into the evening. I also played with the laptop a bit and did some clean up and even got around to deleting most of my PMs on the QB. Some went back to 2021! Gosh. It feels good to clean up - even if it's just virtual junk.

Hope you all are having a good weekend!

Janice sometimes I sit for ages just deleting messages. Something I should do way more than I do.

Hubby has had a rough week. He replaced the back storm door.. He went into the project knowing it wouldn’t be easy but no way did he expect the problems he ran into. Took 2 days and several trips to the area home improvement store. Then he said he was going to put the cover on the new golf cart. Takes everything out of the box, double checks everything is there b4 starting this time, takes out the first rail to screw-in and the rail doesn’t fit. After his mini fit of disgust and anger it turned out they had sent the wrong one and the one we ordered is out of stock. Yikes

Today should be our last nice warm day before the cold front hits. Will spend the afternoon in the pool enjoying the heat then tonight is the big football game. Sounds like a fun day

Well, it’s cold here but DS is in the midst of a blizzard in KS. He’ll be working remotely from home tomorrow. It’s a real plus leftover from Covid times when it was the norm. His pups are not loving the snow despite how beautiful it is.

Speaking of pups, we realized today that “we” have been overfeeding Ernie and he’s a full pound overweight. Now that doesn’t sound like much but he’s 13 pounds and should be just 12. He looks chunky! No more treats for him in the near term. And the “we” is not me btw!

Finishing my blue color blocks and then red are last. Will finish tomorrow I hope.

Oh my it’s 43 here and Tuesday night a chance for a freeze. Will have to really dig around for enough blankets and what not to protect my plants. Love my hibiscus and crown of thorns. Last year I darn near lost the hibiscus, don’t think we covered it as well as we should have

Hubby just read this could be the coldest January on record across the USA.

Janice glad your son can work from home on days like this.

It is errand day for us so probably no sewing. But I will be looking for charm packs and background for my village quilt.

Stay warm and safe.

37 degrees here.... brrrrr. We've been cutting and stacking firewood for days, tho, so will be in good shape. Our local weatherman has been hinting at "some kind of winter weather" later in the week. Maybe snow... sleet or hail. Don't know.

Terri, looking for charm packs is my kind of errand! Do you bring hubby along when fabric shopping?

Janice, can't wait to see your color quilt. From your description I'm envisioning a Duckworth quilt. Is it like that? Great use of the scrap stash!

Keep warm and toasty!
