If you would like to see Libster's work, she had three pages of albums here.

Thank you for posting the link to Libster's albums, SBG. Wandering through them was much like walking through a quilt show.

Libster was a wonderful person and a great mentor. When my sister ‘s husband was dying and then passed she walked us through the process of my sister’s to do list, she was our connection to reality in a very tough period in our lives. Libby you were well loved and will be missed, there is a hole in my heart but so glad you are at peace and no longer suffering.

I am so sad to hear that Libster is no longer with us, she was a wonderful lady that always had such a positive attitude. She is now in the arms of the Lord, heaven has now received another angel.

I agree. She had such beautiful fabrics and usually asked for White so it was a learning curve to do two color blocks. And they looked so beautiful. I pray her family enjoys them.

great news about upcoming boom dates and your surgery.
i have chiropractors in various states and depend on them to keep my head straight! It helps with those pinched nerves

we are out in the desert and getting 25th winds. Not conducive to sitting outside. But it is warmer than rest of country so not complaining.

Good evening. Well actually not a nice one. I received a phone call from Libster’s nephew, with whom she was living in recent years. He let me know that Libby passed away on December 29, 2024 following her battle with cancer. It was a very difficult time for her. Her nephew wanted me to tell you all that Libby no longer hurts. Libby will be sorely missed.

I’m so sorry to hear this. She made beautiful quilt blocks.

Good morning. Makes me happy to read the chatter about Libster. I will miss her and her beautiful work. At least many of us have samples of her creativity in our quilts. How she loved star blocks! Thanks for the link to Libby’s albums SBG.

The birds are complaining their food hasn’t been put out yet. They must know the snow’s coming. Nervy creatures! lol. We’ve learned our regular plower is out of town and won’t be back in time to dig us out if needed. Seems we might be stuck for a couple of days. We’ve got all we need so no worries. I might just enjoy it.

Enjoy your day!

I will miss Libster too. We worked together on a few projects, Janice’s quilt etc. She was a lovely woman. The blocks she made were beautiful and the colors and fabrics she chose for her blocks always produced a beautiful quilt. Is there a place where we can send a card/

We have very dry Santa Ana winds here, which produce delightful weather and terrifying fires. San Diego has avoided the fires so far. We have told our friends in LA our house is open to them. So we may get guests. They also may turn our power off when the winds get bad. One of the big fires was started by sparking electricity lines in the dry windy weather a few years ago.

So many of our San Diego and Mexico fire fighters are fighting the LA fires I worry if we get hit here! Mexico sent a contingent of experienced forest fire specialists with all their gear. Canada is sending a ‘Calvary’ of firefighters and specialized planes. It’s been a massive effort. 10,000 homes destroyed and at least 10 people died in the fires. It’s weird they have enough water but the need for water are so great that the pressure in the fire hydrants can’t keep up. While we’ve had a really dry year the reservoirs had been pretty full due to previous years. I bet they won’t be after this! The experts tell us the problem is the high winds and dry bush. The firefighter spray the water out and it comes back to them instead of going on the fire. It’s just going to continue getting worse with our climate getting dryer and hotter here. I just hope they get the fires under control soon and we don’t lose any more people! And that our fire fighters come home safe!

You can send the cards to me and I will be happy to forward them unopened to Libster’s nephew and his wife who cared for her for several years. They seem to be her closest family. It would be lovely to send cards.

We got our snow. We’re essentially snowed in until it and the ice melt. No way to get up the hill safely. Ernie is not fond of the snow.
