I do have the book though, but I'm not sure how to make it 5"

I do not remember seeing a reply to this about the 5" I believe the book gives the average size of the block as finished and that would be 4.5" When you create the block Renee it will be 5" before they are sewn in so you do not need to change anything.

I hope that was helpful and not stepping on anyone who may have answered already Cher

how about E8

MNQuilter 08-11-2009 05:19 PM

ok, so I just realized that K2 is taken, Klue, are there any other really simple blocks available you could suggest for me. I've never tried applique and somehow don't think this is the time to attempt it so any easy piecing blocks would be better. :) Unless there is one you think should be easy breezy! I'm not against having to do some handwork!

While that is a really cool looking block, I'm not sure I would be very good with that many tiny pieces! Any other suggestions? I tried looking at the DJ website but it is so hard to see them.

J2 looks like one I could do. Could you send me some directions for piecing? I'll PM my email. Thanks for the help and all your organization of this!

MN - go for J2! It looks easy. If you prefer I can take that and you can take K2 if you're nervous.
