Teresa are you cracking the old noodle on all your swappers? I think those new barbs should help a bit.. andele andele get sewing already! Who had the most unusual request for favorite thing?? Hope all you sickies get well quick and no more of this passing it around the house. As my father used to say "do you have a permission slip for that?" which I am pretty sure you don't so stop it right now! or else.. (never knew what that meant either but such a scary thing to wonder on). Solved that issue :)

Well, after finishing the center piece yesterday, I lost my mojo to do more in the sewing room. But, as ol' Frank Sinatra used to croon.... "The Best is Yet to Come!"
I'm still figuring how my layout is going to work. Maybe this week, but probably next weekend for rounds 2 & 3!

Thank you, thank you for all the kind words! After I received Quilty-Louise's list of favorite things, several themes popped out at me. Yellow roses and the colors of yellow and purple were the first two that I focused on. I think I nailed it on the center piece. Now I have to finish the rest of the design, which I'll keep under wraps so's not to spoil the surprise.

My my top is done. Here's a sneak peek. This mayor may not be the actual top but I can tell you that the colors shown have been used and used happily.

Just have to finish the quilting on the cat fabric blocks and do the binding. So mine is coming along nicely.

Look at you all go! I'm a very happy camper :) Lovin' all the colors and flowers and pictures who doesn't love the sharing of pictures? These are a few of my favorite things :)

You all are amongst my 'favorite' things. coming to the QB and meeting new people, finding new friends, sharing with old friends. I wanted to stop in to say I got grand news today. I made the kidney transplant list for Colorado. So with luck within the next couple years I will have a kidney. How much luckier could I get? (guess getting a transplant is about the only thing luckier). I am so happy its not possible to explain this. yahoo for me!

Oh Linda, That is wonderful news. Hope they call you sooner than later and I will bless the donor, many times over! Even though I am not participating in this swap, it is so much fun seeing what all you are creating. Each day that I work on my DGD's graduation quilt, I solve another problem. When it is far enough along to share pics with all of you, I will.

update on my progress. As long as the mini boss lady takes a nap I should get the binding on today. I dug out my super secret stash of fancy pants thread to quilt it last night. I found the perfect backing on accident, it's amazing what I found in my stash lol. I hope my partner likes it. I'm so nervous I've never made something for another quilter.

don't be nervous we all started somewhere. Some of us are great! some of us are learning! its all over and we all accept that every single one of us is of a different level. Its having a gift from another quilter that KNOWS how hard you worked to make this.. its really appreciated. You will love sending and seeing your partners reaction and you will love receiving and enjoying the hard work someone put into making something for YOU> its great stuff.. addicting. your now in for life :) trust me one swap is just never enough.

I too am a little nervous as I am seeing things on here - I am not nearly as advanced as most of you are. I am just hoping my partner won't be disappointed - but sometimes the simple and new projects take a lot of time for us beginners.

I had to make an unexpected trip to Nashville to Vandy Eye Institute where my eye surgeon is - had surgery #13 on my rt eye last Oct - thought I had a problem (cornea #2 rejection!) but it was just a few stitches that had come loose. She removed them, I drove home yesterday, had appts today - so am really tired. Will try to sew some this weekend if I can make it out of bed. Didn't intend to lose this week of work time.

I started up a new Fat Quarter swap for Feb. its greens and St. Patricks day so jump on over one can never have too many new fat quarters! Variety is the spice of life! oh such fun to be had! um.. luck of the Irish! frogs! maybe batiks!

(maybe even Irish Frogs! wearing batik skirts!)

Pretty JennieP, love those soft pink roses. Lj always has beautiful fabric!

I was just communicating with my partner LJDugas31 and she received what I made for her today, and she asked if I could post a photo.
So (on the same table as the photo above), is the runner I made for LJ. She likes flowers!

She was a great partner and will be moving very close to where I live, so we hope to meet in person this year.

That is just beautiful and I love it!!!! Thank You so much.

Nurse Bonnie received the topper Saturday that I made her. She said she liked roosters, and who am I not to comply to those wishes? :D She asked that I post a picture for her, so here it is.

These are absolutely beautiful. Have to be honest I'm sure I wouldn't have asked for roosters, but you did a fantastic job and it is great. Lj love the runner that you received. Thanks ladies for the compliments on my ribbon border, I love this border and seems to "fit" a lot of different items.
