Each month, you will make one block for an assigned partner who will make you one in return.

****
1. You will receive a swap pal name and address along with the color scheme or theme of their quilt.

2. You will have ONE month to make one block for that person and send it to them. The blocks must be 100% prewashed cotton, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2". You can make them in any fashion - pieced, appliqued, paper-pieced, embroidered, other methods - as long as you follow your swap partner's specifications to the best of your ability so their project can be unified.

3. Your name will be assigned to someone else who will then do the same for you.

4. At the end of the month all the names will be reassigned. Please send a PM to the hostess prior to the end of the month if you wish to have your name taken off the list.

5. Participants may change their theme if they wish by sending a PM to the hostess.

6. New members may join at any time but may have to wait until the next reassignment of names to receive a partner. ((However, many participants are willing to do extra swaps - so it may be possible to find an interim partner for you)).

Please join the fun - a great chance to make blocks & new friends !

Directions, for whole block and for pieces for a Bow Tie Quilt.

The block is 8 inches square. It would be nice as they are small, If I could have 4 squares sewn together to make a 15 inch square block. in that case they would be laid out the following way: Pic. 1-- There would be no center design, just row on row of bow ties. Pic. 2--Shows 1- 8" block. Pic 3 shows pieces to make block. Make 2 white (orange) from 4.1/4 inch square; cut 2 black and white print same as white.
square to make knot is 2 1/2 inches.

Directions to make block: Sew one side of the small square(right sides together) to one corner of the print square, matching edges. Continue with the tie by sewing the other side of the small square to other print block, again matching edges.

When you have completed the tie, insert the white on the opposite side of the bow tie, matching edges as with the print.

When the white is sewed into the other side of the bow tie, the block is finished.

Pressing each seam as you work is very important in this pattern. Press all printed bow tie seams toward the white background.

2 Bow Ties sewed together. Another 2 8 inch blocks should be placed so it makes a 15 inch square
