Quilt for Alu
#121
Well, let me see. The quilt is 30 squares x 35 squares. This would mean 1050. Now we need to subtract the places where I didn't use squares, but had boarders. 16 x 2 + 14 x 2 = 32 + 28 = 60 1050 - 60 = 990 16 x 2 + 20 x 2 = 32 + 40 = 72 990 - 72 = 918 - 92 = 826 44 x 2 + 48 x 2 = 88 + 96 = 184
826 - 184 = 642
642 sounds a little high, but not too much. I lost count after 400. The center is 14 x 14 = 196. I know two sides were 48 each = 96 and there are several other rows. So I would say somewhere between 400 & 600. Sounds like a lot, but I think it is right. What do i know about math?
It is pretty. You did a wonderful job on the squares.

You know what I wish? I wish each of you could come to my back yard and we could sit around my big old quilt frame, sip cold drinks, watch the kids play and quilt it together. We would be done in a good day. We would sign the back in permanent pen and send it on its way. I would even make cookies and provide lunch.
