Alu is a very special young woman who has a heart for teaching. She has worked hard, through many struggles and family scuffles to get where she is now. School may be a bit of a challenge at first, but with all of our names on her handmade quilt, she will be able to feel our love and encouragement. I wish I had had something like that when I left for the Army. I guess I sort of feel like I am passing the baton from me to her. I'm not able to continue teaching like I used to, but she can carry on in my place.

Chele: Your blocks arrived today. You were first, so I think I may owe you a little something. We shall see.

Ha, ha, Later everyone, Gwyn

Mine will be in the mail today! I sent four. If I have time I will make more blank ones so she has lots of room for new friends and even her first students while she is student teaching can sign.

Which ever you have. The blocks I have already are just white. I would rather have white on white than leave anyone out.
