We are returning to Kansas. I met my husband when we were both stationed in Wichita and we were there for almost 11 years. I'm from NY originally (but haven't lived there in a very long time) and he's from an hour up the road from Wichita - we're going back to be closer to his family since mine is spread all over the place.

Phil's retirement ceremony is the last weekend of June and then we pile into the cars and go search for a house. He'll stay with us for a few weeks while we look and then will have to come back up here to deal with the out-processing stuff. But barring any issues, we'll all be in the new place by Sep 1.

Well, the plan is to open a store within the next year so I don't need to live I tornado-magnet towns for retreats and stuff. The smaller the town, the greater the distance between you and "big civilization", then the greater chance you have of being sucked off the earth in a storm.

You can can always stay with us as long as you can tolerate Alice and her minion.

I went to Newman until we moved - it's directly carrycorner across KS-54 from Friends. Friends is Quaker, Newman is Catholic. I'm neither but I prefer private colleges.

Terriamn - what method did you decide to use for your HST? They all came out great - very nice blocks for everyone!

Mama H. Granddaughter isn't Quaker either but it has one of the best programs in the country for her majors, zoology and biology research.

cfaftytine I tried three differnt methods. Sewing a quarter inch around a square and cutting it diagonally both ways . Traditional squares cut on the diagonal and on the last two I used my Go die. Usually don't use the Go on Swap blocks but I made a couple practice ones and they came out right on.

Well, we're under contract. 2 weeks exactly from the date we listed. Our realtor told us it would be unlikely we'd get a contract before mid-May. Ha!
