That is a very beautiful quilt block. You did a lot of work on it stitchengramie. Very pretty colors, and contrast.

I went to the post office this afternoon, and got the little package with the beautiful quilt block that Mary, Stitchengramie made for me. It is even more beautiful, and perfect than the picture above shows. Mary due to some personal matters mine to you will not be on schedule, but you will be receiving yours from me as soon as I can finish it. Thank you so much for this beautiful quilt block. I will use it in something very special.

JuneBillie, I am so glad that you liked the block. I knew that you dropped out. But I already had your block finished and I sent it to you anyways thinking it might bring you a bit of cheer. Take your time on making my block and make it one of the blocks that you can already now how to make. I tell you now the wing block is a dossie to make. It took me awhile before I could get a wing block right.

Stitchengramie I am sure it is more difficult making the wing block. I have just done the half square triangles, and the boston blocks. I am busy working on your block, and having fun. I am feeling so much better since I have been going to physical therapy. I was in so much pain before it was hard to deal with much of anything when I ended up with an impinged nerve. I finally have the feeling back in my finger too. The physical therapist said his own father had the same thing, but ended up having surgery, and still was left with most of his hand numb permanently.

I had some fatty tumors removed a few years ago on my arm and they took off a small tumor at the base of one of my fingers on the same hand. It was a diff kind of tumor the dr said it would eat the bone if it had been left. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to sew after the surgery. I had been told the one largest tumor had a major nerve running through it and I had a 50/50 chance of losing the use of my hand. So I did end up with that one finger having a surface numbness but it is a small price to pay and I hardly notice it any more

Mary did you get the hang of making the wings block and would you do them again? I did come up with some paper templates you can try instead of using the 30 degree templates. They are like a shirt pattern. You cut out the paper pieces and pin them to fabric. cut out around them trimming them to the same size as the paper template. then you have 4 pieces and you just sew them together into the Wings Block. Might seem easier to do.

I am very impressed with your methods Rhonda. I think they are absolutely wonderful, and fun to create. I would really recommend your methods to everyone. Rhonda that is very scary what happened to you with the fatty tumors too. We never know what can crop up. The biggest thing I lost after my sjogren's and lupus become active was my energy. For everyone with them it's very individual, but for many like myself it literally takes a lot of our life away, and we have to create a whole new life. I am so blessed though, because I do look at life in a very special way now. I really appreciate the small daily things. My husband has seen how much coming to this board has meant to me. Being able to see what others are working on. Being a part of even small things to work on, and having so much fun in learning new things, and challenging myself. So many kind people on this board. It's just a blessing.
