ok, finally decided on my theme. i love giraffes but that would pretty limiting, i think. so, i have decided giraffes and anything related them. i have a great wild animal panel to start my row. would love to have anything that goes with them. pieced, appliqued, or other. even just blocks with giraffe and animal prints.

I'm thinking of joining but I want to have a theme before I commit. This will be my very first time at this sort of thing but I think it may be the only way I will ever get a quilt of my own. I keep thinking of stuff that will be "perfect" for other people so I put my stuff on the back burner. I'll try to come up with a theme at work this evening.

What do you all consider to be 30's and Civil War? I've never worked with either (that I know of!)

If I get someone who has Batiks in their quilt I'll be thrilled - that means I get to go shopping since I don't have many in my stash.

There's a whole line of fabrics that are concidered Civil War prints. You can find pictures of some on quilt shop sites if you put in Civil War fabrics. And some quilt shops carry them. I'm sure the people working there could help you find them if you get one in your group.

This sounds like soooo much fun! I've always wanted to do one of these row robins. Count me in! I will send bookworm a PM. :)

I prefer the fabrics from the Civil War prints but that's my problem....I don't usually go out of the box. LOL I'm stuck in my own lil rut. So, I would love something like this to let me see what others would add to what I start with. :-)

Awesome idea. I have a tendency to think of Civil Wars as browns and dark reds. (Maybe that came from looking at my Dear Jane book?)

Angie - I get stuck in my ruts too, and that's why I'm loving this challenge! :)

I actually love the reds and grays in the Civil War prints out right now. I like the other colors too though.
