I've been cutting up scraps into 5", 4 1/2" and 3 1/2" squares and some 2 1/2" strips. Several containers and bags of 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" squares are getting cut down into 2 1/2" squares for this swap just so I reduce quantity but I may just have to switch to strips (and cutting more strips) for faster construction. I'm hoping persistence pays off and I don't walk into a quilt shop . . . on the street or online. This swap has been inspiring me to shop at home.

Mary, I'm with you. I'm SO far behind....but determined to make this work. So I thought about making strip sets and cutting appropriately. I will just have to be careful to not duplicate a set in any one baggie. But it would make the assembly go faster.

I am going to start with my 2.5" candies and see how far I get. It would be nice to use some of those, since they are as scrappy as they get! (but the strips are calling me....lol)

I have been making my blocks both ways. Strips and individual charms. For some reason sewing them individually calms me and I usually I get the 6.5" blocks right the first time.
Red, you mentioned cutting your 5" blocks into 2.5 pieces. I tried that also and really like how they turned out.

Good morning everyone! It's the 20th! Last day to sign up for this swap is today, up until midnight. Any lurkers decide to 'play'?

I've made three more sets but can't remember which I've shown and which I have not... so no picture. I have 7 sets done and another one underway. Hoping to do 10 sets.

In this swap is it ok to use any 2.5 patches? I think I may have used some from the 2 color blocks..

Honchey, I don't know about anyone else, but it would be okay with me seeing as I wasn't in that swap
But then, I'm pretty easy that way.

Goodness, oops! I hope so! I used a few left over squares in a couple of my blocks. I'm sure Sewbiz will settle any worries here soon, but personally I feel find with receiving any repeated fabrics from the past swaps. They are all in different quilts.

Honchey, yes it’s ok to use fabrics from past swaps. This is a different style 9 patch than last time so Im sure the blocks won’t be in the same quilt.

Dont fret too much if you accidentally repeat a fabric, either. It happens.

I’ve been making mine with individual 2.5” squares. I’m using up my small scrapes also. I have 3 sets done so far. Here is a few pictures of the 9Ps I made while at the coast. They still need to be trimmed & measured.
