Mine sewing room for the past 12 years is light to a soft medium blue, and I have a Formica White Murphy Bed in the wall with White cabinets, shelves and drawers on either side of hidden bed. My cutting table and 2 Sewing Cabinets are made by Horn in White formica. I love the blue with the white together and I always (ALWAYS!) feel relaxed and happy when I walk into the room. I would NEVER change my blue and white, not ever. It keeps me happy.

Mary Anne, I agree. My experience is that any color works as long as there is a subtle grey undertone. It doesn't wash out or darken the color it just makes it less of everything. Less cool and less jarring. For me more serene and calming.

Green is good BUT you need windows to bring in the light......my one bathroom is in a light green kinda a sage green and its dark sometimes even with the window in there.........my sewing room is on the southeast side too and I have a large window my walls are white but I like it that way for many reasons.....you can have loads of color on your walls by putting small wall hangings(quilts) .......I also have a bullentin board that holds pics of grandkids so I can see them when sewing......when you think about it your window coverings and your accessories will give you lots of color......I guess Iam always looking to change all the time so rather then moving everything everytime you want a change moving things off the walls is much easier then painting for me anyways.....just my opinion....Trish

Right, I can see that line of thinking. I am in luck here, though, I have windows on both corners where the house sides meets So there is a lot of light. I also have a fan with those lily lights that hang down; so a lot of light in the center of the room. The accessories and such will add colour though, you are quite right about that.
