Organized Chaos

"Demotivated", yep that's the feeling I have. I'm in the process of trying to get a handle on my stash. Hubby bought me two 4 shelf cabinets for Christmas to help with the organization. I have them almost full and haven't made much of a dent in my stash. Need more cabinets, BUT don't have the room for them. But, boy am I finding fabric that I had totally forgotten about. And I love the way the fabrics look in the cabinets. I've sworn off buying more fabric unless it's something that I specifically need for a quilt...mainly backgrounds. Sigh, I love petting fabric!

Don't all those piles in front of your nicely organized shelves just drive you nuts? Mine do, I swear I will never do it again as soon as I get the piles off the floor, it never lasts for more then a day or two. When I do get around to seeing the fabric on the shelf again it feels brand new!

I have generations of fabric. When my Grandmother passed , my mother got tons of vintage fabrics from the 60's, 70's & 80's. She used quite a bit of it & when she recently moved she gave me some of Grammies fabric & some of hers. I have begun to use some of it to make yo-yos. This years project is to make 3400 yo-yos out of all the Red, white & blue fabrics.
