I never can throw away a button! If I toss old clothes, I must keep the buttons! I keep them in a clear pint canning jar and just enjoy looking at them! Pint size makes it easy to dump out and look through when I need certain buttons.

I like to use the divided boxes that I find either at a craft store or at a sporting goods store. They have up to 24 sections in a box and it is easy to see what is in the box without opening it. They are available in a variety of sizes.

I was lucky to inherit a spice rack tower set on a lazy susan from my mom. I can keep my buttons in the clear containers, and they nest in the tower which spins so I can see all the buttons sorted by color or type. If I like, I can remove the spice rack plastic cap or keep it on to keep little hands from using it.
Sounds like there are lots of ideas out there. This is the great thing about this board....lots of help when you need it.

I have a big tin box that my grandma had that she stored her buttons in. I have buttons in it that were her moms and all the ones she had saved over the years. I can tell you one thing, the buttons made in the pass are a lot better than the ones made today.

This is a large clear plastic sectioned container. On the bottom you turn the bottom piece to access one section at a time. My friend got it for me from QVC, I think, several years ago. They showed it filled with nuts, candies, different pastas, etc. But of course when I saw it, it immediately went into my sewing room. The top lid is filled with old silk thread on wooden spools.
(My first time posting a pic on this new board - fingers crossed!)
