Wow - great room! We also have a "free" store in our little town - all of the churches donate money (maybe $25 a month each) for the utilities - the building is donated. People can bring whatever they have to donate - usually left overs from garage sales, remodels, etc. Even broken appliances - some people can fix them. My friend went and got a broken printer and used the motor for her son's science fair project. My daughter remodeled and took an old bathtub and before they got it unloaded from their truck, somebody was wanting it. They are open 3 short days a week and you can't find a parking place when they are open.

Thank you, I think these free stores are great. They help so many people who don't have much. I hope someone will love my scraps as much as I do. I have so many and as I said I love cutting them down, but got way out of control for me to ever catch up. I will now cut as I go.

I love the table hubby made for me, it's nothing fancy but does the job really well.

What a fabulous stash, all organized and neatly arranged. You have some talented carpenters who love you--hope you gave them a big kiss and squeeze for their labors? LOL. I don't see a picture of your cutting table, though. Did I miss something? A cutting table the right height was the best decision I ever made for myself in my sewing room. Well, that, and my machine.

I hope your son's ex-GF didn't make off with other goodies from around the house--jewelry, dishes, tools? Sounds like a thief who will help herself to anything. Glad she's out of his life and yours.

Re: scraps. If you want to tame some more rather than bother cutting them down, or if you're just tired of looking at some of them, why not host a guessing game on here? It's fun to play, fun to give, fun to win, fun to get new scraps. It's a form of "birth control" for my scraps that love to reproduce.

Yes my son did an awesome job on the shelves and very sturdy, he can climb right up them. Oh she picked up other things, but thank God he's moved on. I love my cutting table, so much easier on the back. The past two days I have made 18 pillowcases for Christmas gifts, have a few more to go. I have my DGD who lives with us and she'll be 16 on Christmas Eve and she just feels she should get them all.
