International Quilt Festival (aka Houston Quilt Show) November 4-7, 2010
#61
I am part of a group of Mississipp Quilters that are heading to Houston by bus on November 3. I've been two others time but in a car with other quilters. I am thinking this bus trip is going to be a blast. Just think riding that distance with fifty other quilters.

I am planning on going to the quilt show and was wondering if anyone has taken their classes. I would love to take a couple while I am there and am wondering if they supply sewing machines or do we need to bring our own. I am out of town, so it would be pretty much impossible for me tobri g mine. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I hate to discourage you from trying to get into a class, but there may not be any openings available at this late date. Most of the quilters I know who sign up for classes do so within the first 48 hours after registration is open. I registered for 6 classes and one of them was already filled.
If you do get into a class, there is a materials list for each class.
There are several "mini" classes available in different areas throughout the quilt show. When you get to the GRB, get a program and check them out. Some are free and some may cost you $5 ot $10, but the project you leave with is usually well worth the cost.

I already have my hotel room booked and am just waiting for a good price on an airline ticket. I will be there all 4 days.
Tisha (aka quilter1962) already has her airline ticket!!!! She will be flying in on the 2nd and getting over her jet lag before the show starts.
So.........come on ladies. Who is up for the Houston show this year??

I should have included this information with my first reply.

This link will take you to the Festival website. Scroll down and click on Check Class Availability to see what classes are still open. Download a copy of the class catalogue for descriptions of the classes and the supply lists and instructions on how to register online.
Good luck.
