What a great weekend!! Thank you, Karen, for all of your coordinating work! You are so appreciated!

I had such a fun time and am very thankful to have met such wonderful friends. The raccoons must be bummed that we're gone.

Hopefully everyone checked their bags before leaving otherwise they might be in for a big surprise if a raccoon pops out. I decided it must have been a girl raccoon and she wanted to freshen up her makeup since she took Carol's makeup bag and then she had to call her boyfriend from Jen's cell phone. Must not have been a very good conversation since she threw down Jen's phone so hard.

It will be a weekend I will never forget.

Thanks again everyone,

I walked in at the point where they had the costumes on. I knew immediately that I was at the right place and it would all be good.

Winewoman: Your pictures are wonderful...us birthday girls were a pair to draw to! How fun and how funny we looked. I'm going to post some pictures but will take a couple posts to get them on. They WILL show the world that we did sew while we were at retreat...we just didn't sit around laughing!

Cbridges: I think all the pictures of you are darling...you are Miss Personality Plus and so full of fun and that shows in your pictures. Loved getting to know and spend time with you. Can't wait for our next get-to-gether.

KarenBarnes 06-07-2011 03:22 PM

Feathers, you have SewCornie's project labeled as mine and Quiltingnonie's quilt by Charisma labeled but it is quilttiludrop in the picture. Just thought you'd like to know!

So much fun to see the pictures and relive the weekend! I feel soo much better for having gone!

2 Doods 06-07-2011 05:39 PM

Great shots ladies! Where is all the sunshine that we had? I'd like to see the blue sky here! (Pg 29 pictures on the beach)

Karen-Anna Renee is a doll! Thanks for posting her pic.

Feathers, I guess we are a couple of ole birds! Your sister is great. What fun! I'm not feeling very productive after seeing everyone's big projects. I just did my little half square triangles. Made a big pile and it is a good start on my scrappy quilt. I'll see if I can have some of it together before our next gathering.

Followed UglyCook to Tillamook and took Hwy 6 home. Twisty!! Hwy 18 is a better route. Looking forward to another trip!

Wine Woman 06-07-2011 06:30 PM

Your welcome everyone! How fun to look at all the postings and pictures-I smile so much everytime I look at the postings. Feathers -you are a hoot! I have to turn my computer sideways to look at your pics! It's a good thing its a netbook or I would be laying on my side!

Karen: Thank you for letting me know I'd screwed up on the picture labels...I had two shots of Quilttiludrop holding her pillowcase and when I noticed this, I deleted one and added the picture of Quiltingnonie's that Charisma quilted...somehow the extra pic of QuilttilUDrop remained and no quilt picture. Here, let me fix it.

I know I really needed that nap or else I was going to add blood to the quilt with the needle going through my finger!

Thanks for all the pictures ladies! I had such a wonderful time!

I'm a strong believer that every quilt should be sleep-tested while in progress. It's all part of the process and quite an enjoyable one at that.

(I'm a strong believer that every quilt should be sleep-tested while in progress. It's all part of the process and quite an enjoyable one at that-Sew Cornie)

Does that mean that I can crawl up on my longarm and take a nap on one of them while I'm longarming  . A new-fangled hammock comes to mind.

Thanks everyone for the pictures,

I'm finally getting to unpack everything! I came back with more than I brought. Thank you all for the nice gifts, my zipper pouch, lovely nail file, new bag (which came in real handy filled to the top when I left), my beautiful quilted wine panel, my mug rug, finger pin cushion (its so cute!), and my awesome flip flops (thongs ((for my feet of course))!!). Why do I feel like I'm forgetting something? That's because I got so many presents! I love presents! Thank you all. :D :D

Like Winewoman said, I too came home with more than I
took with me. . . . .I'm not sure that is possible as I came packed pretty heavy!

Thank you all for the goodies you gave me, mug rugs, birthday party, cake, gifts, tote bags, tote pouches, great company, new friendships, fun, learning opportunities in paper piecing, great food, belly laughs, casino company, and everything else I might have overlooked mentioning.

I did get home to find I was missing my camera recharger and my cell phone recharger...both together in a little bag. Have looked through everything and didn't find them. I'm wondering if Randy the Racoon took up photography and cell phone communication???

Sandy check with Faith and Jen. They came up with a bag before leaving. I wonder if they could have it. Randy did get a little too curious-I would love to see his home and all his findings!! He probably phoned his girlfriend with Jen's phone to see what else they might need!

This is the second for this group. It grew by double this year from last year! What a fun time and a fun way to meet new people! If you ever get the chance, you'll have a blast! It was funny to talk with the others and find out that we all followed some of the same quilters on the board. Since some of us had never met, it just made the coincidences grow!

quilttiludrop 06-11-2011 09:12 AM

It was a great location, great company, and great food! What more could you ask for? Yes, we all got some sewing done too!

WOW>...I just LOVE all the pictures from your retreat! It looks like you all had so much FUN!

Candlequilter I love your idea of using our longarmed quilts as a hammock! I can tell you girls were just having a ball!

I also see that a quilt I have the privileged of longarming made it to the retreat!

Laurie's quilt is stunning. I've had the privilege of seeing it in process since last summer and it was lovely to see it finished. Your quilting on it highlights her piecing beautifully. You'll have to join us sometime. You're not THAT far away. :-D

Kind of off the weekend topic but we all live so close and travel the same roads so I wanted to share some of my visits to a couple of nice Quilt Stores over the last week. I wanted to share with all of you that there is a new little quilt store that opened in Gaston. Very cute it's in an old house- Very limited on fabric but wonderful prices. She also has long arm services very reasonable.

Sew Cornie- I visited two quilt stores yesterday and today and thought of you. In Canby, the very nice quilt store had plaids on clearance. If you buy one yard you get 40% off. But the best was today. In West Linn, Holy Hill Quilt Store is a gallery of beautiful quilts, fabric and a lot of fun things. This store is so much fun. Love the way its laid out and all the displays are very nice. Everytime I go its all rearranged - so its like my first time all over again! Everyone must go to experience the beauty of so many things. Sew Cornie they have sooooo many plaids! You have got to go! Don't forget that down the hall is another part of the store with brights and children fabrics.

Everyone may have already visited the stores or know about them but just had to share if not. It's worth the trip they are all unique-but make sure you have extra time to spend in Holly Hill because you will need it.

Sheryll you will just have to come to our area and spend some time with us! Can't wait to come up your way and sew and shop your quilt/material stores. Have you been to Fabric Depot? Oh my I'm in so much trouble-I went today and did damage again!
