I love them both and I am rather addicted to making them, too (ever so slow, though). I think it is because I only have to pick one colour and I haven't had the guts to try the octagon yet, seems from reading about it, more complicated to me.

I cannot decide which I like better because the light makes them look so different in color. I know you said they were the dame fabric, but it sure doesn't look like that. There is more sewing with the octogon. I will have to try an octogon. I have done a couple 4-patch posies, and hexes, so onward and upward! They are addicting. AND, I have that fabric!!!!!!!

I think some of the blocks stand out more in the octagons which is nice, but the hexagons have a better flow to them.
Each has it's own place, I would now have to stop and audition them both out of the next fabric I start cutting into, or buy enough to make a quilt out of each :D:D:D

I really love your octagon quilt!! :D:D:D

Its absolutely gorgeous and I love your borders..adding a small amount of the original fabric rather than the complete border of it...so very artistic
