Hi Izy, well let you into a secret I donīt drive anymore to that mad city Malaga with all those crazy drivers  , I am going to bus it, but you are welcome to come along and help me choose :) . The light one will be used elsewhere on the quilt.
Had serious withdrawal last night when I could not get into the board did not know they were changing servers.

Elle, That is beautiful! I love applique but it intimidates the heck out of me. I think I am going to have to give it a try after seeing yours. Great job! I also agree with the others. A bit darker border around the blocks .

Hi Chele, Misstreated,ChristineD, D A Meyer, Thanks so much for all your help and particularly for your kind remarks. I will be doing this with a bit of renewed vigour.
Honestly, applique is a breeze and so much easier than those blocks which just frighten the life out of me :( , I did them for this quilt but put them off till that was all that was left to do. Steam-a-seam2 for the applique is what I use which is double sided sticky and it works so well.
You do have to machine round each piece of fabric (or handstitch a rude word in my book) but with a clear plastic foot on your machine its a doddle. If you have a blanket stitch or satin stitch on your machine away you go girl. Love to you all Elle

Ellie, your appliqued quilt is beautiful!! I think I would do as Misstreated said & audition the color so you get just the right shade. It's looking good!! Can't wait to see what you find for your border & see it all finished! Have fun shopping!!

Hi Pam Pollock, Oh we will have fun, its a bit of an adventure when we go to Malaga, getting lost and all, its such a huge City. Really looking forward to it.
Izy, she can borrow my pass, just seen her photo, Terri needs to dye her hair blonde, no probs. We can pick her up from Malaga Bus Station. Okay, Terri you up for it and while your at it bring a bucket of those gorgeous flowers in your back yard.
