It looks good...not faded at all. Though having made one myself it did seem kind of "used" when it was all said and done. BUT, it was so soft and cozy. Made it for my DGD but her Dad (my son) uses it himself because of the way it feels! So I'm sure your Aunt will love it!

I might make a suggestion for the next time you make one...you can use warm and natural batting (I always do) but you need to cut it smaller than your flannel pieces. So if you are planning on 1/2 inch seams on say a 6 inch block, you would cut the batting as a 5 inch square and center it between the flannel pieces. You will achieve a nicer 'raggedy' look by not having the batting as part of the seam.
Thanks, Pam-I realized that AFTER I quilted them and started sewing them together! Since I cut WAY too many squares (no planning for this one, unfortunately), I will be making a few more!

Love the colors, you did great! I haven't done a rag quilt yet.

Up close, it looks "used", so I will have to be sure to explain it really isn't to my Aunt! I had mixed emotions about making this for her in the first place, as a few years ago I make a really nice applique wall hanging for her new apartment in the retirement home she is in (it is a really up-market place) and she decided to hang it in some hallway in the building. She was on the committee to display art mostly made by the residents, which they periodically change around, so who knows where it is now. This is too big for that, so I hope it doesn't end up in the Good Will bin!

I think she'll know that it was made out of love for her. It will keep her legs/body warm, for sure. Tell her that it was washed multiple times so hopefully most of the shedding has been completed.

I've made a lot of rag quilts. Some with better flannel, some with cheapy fabric. Over the years, do they look matty, yes. Only figured that out when I made a new one for our use, then compared the old ones with the new one.

It looks lovely to me! I think Aunty Pam will treasure it, as it came from your heart!
