I like yours with 4 stripes rather than the 3 strip I used. Good job. I make lots of Charity quilts and only when we get to talk to some of the folks who give them out, do we hear what these quilts mean to the folks who receive them. That keeps us going.

I love it - but purples/lavendars are my favorite - but you did a great job! Some younger people of today just do not have the appreciation of a hand made quilt versus one that is boughten... If only they could acquire the "feel" of made with love by someone who thought enough of them to give them a quilt - but I think our younger generation is losing sight of such... too bad; but I do love it! Keep on quilting- you did wonderful!

Very pretty, I love the purple. I agree with everyone that says I just don't think people realize the time and love you put into a quilt. I'm a newbie at quilting and (sewing),so needless to say I'm so excited that I made that I want them to have the same reaction.

At least the baby is surrounded by your love and effort and that's the main thing... the niece, well... she's another story. It's a beautiful and comfy looking quilt.

It's lovely...don't let her discourage you on quilting. Your niece just didn't appreciate a labor of love. Maybe she will appreciate it later.

Don't let her response stop you from making more great quilts. You've got the talent and there are so many in need who would love one of your quilts:-)

Some people seem to have no clue-- or care -- how much work goes into a quilt! And some people apparently think it is their due to receive gifts and just have no appreciation!

When my niece married, she told my sister she wanted a king-sized Double Wedding Ring quilt. When I asked 'why me,' she said because I'm the quilter in the family. I didn't make it. Instead, I created a beautiful silk frame with one of her favorite pics. It took many days searching for just the right -- and expensive -- materials to create it. Had I known it would end up costing $100 I would probably not have started it! I then added a nice check to the package.
Two years later I made 2 hand-quilted quilts for their first-born. When I later gave them a simple raggy denim and flannel quilt they could throw on the lawn for the baby, they flipped over it and I FINALLY got my first thank-you EVER from her!!! Ooooops, I'm wrong -- her HUSBAND sent it, she didn't even bother to sign her name!!

I finished another quilt just in time for their second son's birthday, no thank you yet.

He just turned 2. I think I'm done

Your quilt is lovely. It is so hard to understand people. Guess we are all different but being rude sometimes just shouldn't be.
