I would be proud to use this on my table.
We are way too hard on ourselves.

This is a creative fun hobby that should bring pleasure.

Okay, I took this beginner class in late June - early July. The table runner was machine quilted. Understand that I don't have a machine, haven't sewn on one since 7th grade, wanted to be hand quilting, was not comfortable with the LQS's machine, which was a perfectly decent Bernina...

As you can see, my sashing is bowlegged and I have peaks instead of right angles in the corners. We did the binding by hand. It's uneven because there's a machine seam underneath it that is uneven.

Definitely beginner work. I've seen so many people post their first project here and the work is beautiful. Oh well, practice will help, right?

<sigh> I see the first two pics didn't upload in the intended order. How do they get transposed?
Very nice work! I recognized the flowered fabric from Joann's. I thought it was so beautiful that I'm making a wall hanging. Also, found matching fabric with the flowers in narrow rolls. Going to make matching pillows.

Thanks to the rest of you for posting such nice things.

Honestly, it would have to be a folksy table for it to look good, as I insited on using a bulkier batting because I wanted it to look like what I think of as a quilt rather than being flat.

Quiltintime, I do hope you'll post pictures of yours when you're done. I gave the rest of that floral fabric to someone who'd given me a ton of the tiny flower prints I can't find in stores any longer. I do have a few scraps and plan to use one or two for bookmarks. I couldn't think how I'd use that fabric in a quily (naturally now that it's gone, I have all sorts of ideas), so I'd love to see what other people do with it.

Thanks, SulaBug!

You two must have the best time getting together and quilting, shopping for fabric and swapping it, too.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the wall hanging - and your pictures of your work, too!

that's a very nice quilt and absolutely great for a beginner.

nobody seems to know how to keep the pics in numerical order. we all get jumbled up. so in the caption box, just put in #1, #2, etc.

Thanks, Butterflywing. There must be a way to order those pictures. Barnbum's pics always seem to be in order, complete with her own words between them. I ought to ask her how she does it.
