yes.. i charge money.. but not as much as i should.. but it does allow me to buy more stash and continue to be creative. I am not trying to buy a house with making bow tucks ..lol.. I just like the joy of making them and watching them come to life and I love it when someone wants one per their request of fabrics.. good for a smile and it works for me !

does the designer "allow" you to make them for resale? I know most prohibit you making them for selling..but some allow a certain number..you have to ask for permission first either way..

Frequently Asked Questions

Making bags for resale?

Can I make your tote bags for resale?

Yes, as long as you are making them by hand on your home sewing machine and the bags are not mass-produced. We also request design credit when selling the bags. This can be a simple as a card included with the bag that says "Designed by Quiltsillustrated"

Every time I make her something, she takes and shows it off and then they email me with THEIR wishes/desires...I once sold 150 sets of coasters in 3 months to them...well those in Memphis and some in New Orleans..just because I gave her set of Special Saints ones!
Imagine the cutting/sewing for 150 sets of EIGHT coasters...about wore me and a cutting mat out!
Let me add that the bottom layer was Ultrasuede and they paid $25 a set for them!

I find that with these bow tucks bags...once seen they are contagious..
on hardware... some use the magnetic snaps.. i like buttons because i think it gives it a finished look. i use either a button that matches , lol. or at least I think it does.. or I like to use the buttons that you use your own fabric and cover them . I use the 1 1/2 inch size ..
I also use beads on mine.. but that is just my preference. I can't tell you the size because I emptied them into a container and threw out the bag.. lol (on the side ties)
