Babies are stimulated with black and white, maybe even more than colors when first born. I'm sure it will go great in some nursery! Terrific job on both.

I think the panel would make a perfect beginning for a medallion quilt or a round robin. The possibilities are endless.

I love them both and they will make a great baby set. I would use them both as tops and buy more fabric for the backs. That way you can quilt them both in separate patterns. Very pretty!

Both are very suitable for babies. They can't see pastels or colors moms like. This is a quilt for a baby, not the mom.
either one will be the babys favorite.

Y son is 22 yr old...i made his first quilts b&w with red. He loved it

[QUOTE=sassy granny;5486254]You have 2 beautiful peices there. I wouldn't use either for the back, they both will make beautiful quilts. I would put a white backing on the tree and quilt it as you said with outlined tree and echoing. The twister would be very prett with a small patterned backing such as the small black print you have in the top. I have never been a fan of the twister but yours is lovely. I really like black, red and white together and you did a fantastic job of placing your pieces. I love it.
BTW, The tree panel would make a beautiful wall hanging.

Agree with lynnie and jenOSU - infants see contrast, not colour so these are *perfect*! And I vote for 2 quilts - they're both gorgeous.

I agree, I just made a black and white with shocking pink quilt for a nieces new baby. They were the colors she requested and she loves it. Black and white may not be the colors us older generation would have chose but we're not the ones having the babies anymore. There are many Mom's who would love it, but I'd make it two quilts also, either side is just too pretty to side B.

I agree with BeckySt. Both the panel and your twister piece are nice. I would make two out of these pieces.
