Default Final Frontier-my first Star Quilt Finished!

I posted the top to this quilt when I finished piecing it. It took me a while to decide on how I wanted to quilt it so even though the top was finished in March, I only finished the whole thing about 10 days ago. The back is the black I originally bought for the piecing, but I decided to use a starry black from my stash instead. So there wasn't quite enough for the entire back, causing me to use a stash fabric (that I Love) in the center of the back. I'm very pleased with this quilt, since it's the first star quilt I've ever made. Being uncertain about how to paper piece, I didn't really use that technique. I used the paper pieces to cut the fabric, allowing the 1/4" seam with each cut. My points would probably turn out more precise if I had paper-pieced the correct way, but they look pretty good to me. As long as the quilting police don't come look at it, I'm happy with it.

As a near-life-long Star Trek fan, the title came naturally.

Beautiful quilt....love the colors. I'm very impressed that you didn't paper piece it. Points look perfect to me. I can see why you are very pleased with it. Thanks for sharing the finished results with us.
