Fresh Lilac BOM update

I know there are lots of newbies here and I want to help them as the experienced ones have helped me.
I had no idea what I was getting into when I ordered a BOM (block of the month). I thought it was $29.95, but it turned out to be that much each month. They had my Credit Card number and I was not able to get out of it.
So the first one came and I cut the pieces and began to sew. Nothing turned out. And I put it all in a tub and set it on a shelf.
Flash forward 2 plus years and many hours watching videos and buying new rulers and listening to Bonnie Hunter's quilt cams and having all these wonderful experienced quilters on the board help me.
So it turned out that my machine was wrong, my needle was too fat, my seams were wide enough to land a 747 on and my pressing was dreadful.
About 5 days ago I began ripping out all the fat seams and doing it right. The three blocks in the picture are not perfect, maybe a C+ grade. But they are very close to 12 1/2 x 12 1/2.
Has anyone else tried a BOM called Fresh Lilacs? One very kind member offered me more fabric for any opps-es. I had worried about that and bought both an extra layer cake and bundle of half yards.

Your blocks are lovely! I was looking at a fabric site the other day and was just about to click buy when I noticed the $4 price was not a yard but a fat quarter. Pretty bad when you have to read the fine print nowadays.

Wow! You blocks are coming out terrific! You are doing a great job of redoing them.
Those BOMs are nice, but when you multiply the months times the price, it sometimes gets pretty pricey. I have to watch my budget; and it always seems like some one is giving me fabric, so I usually steer away from the BOMs.
I did buy the Fresh Lilacs layer cake and some yardage to do MSQC Jenny Doan's Quarterfoil Quilt. I have watched the tutorial several times and I took some notes. It's free shipping today. I should order 2 more charm packs of the Fresh Lilacs.

Very pretty blocks but that's an outrageous price for a 12.5" block! Do you know about Quilter's Cache? It's a free site that has patterns for zillions of blocks, and many different sizes. You could go to the 12.5" block page and make a bunch of lovely blocks using your own fabrics, and no $29.95 per block! Check out that site here:

These are just the 12" blocks (12.5", unfinished).
