    I think your color combo is great.

    Sometimes half the fun is just throwing a bunch of fabrics you love together and making it work.

    Not everyone can do that.

    It turned out beautifully.

    I'm so glad you did that sneaky thing and got the response you wanted! I was about to say I think your "radical" color scheme works. Ordinarily I find it's a risk to combine reds and pinks except on Valentine's day, LOL. But your floral fabric has pink in it and to me it looks like you have a scarlet and a deep pink in the hourglass units. So the border really works. The backing is gorgeous, too. Bet you're "tickled pink" to give your friend this quilt!!
