In a quilting class, the talk about what would happen to your stash and quilts when you die. Some said they would probably end up in a garage sale, up in the attic, etc. One lady said she left instructions for her quilts to be buried with her because she didn't know anyone worthy enough of all the time she spent making them.

I've wondered about that too. I would like to tell my children to have someone finish the WIPS for them since none of them sew. My 10 year old grandduaghter is making a quilt so the fabric can go to her.

When my grandmother passed away in 1995 we had a quilt that was made to fit her casket. My family is Chinese and it is common for a silk casket quilt be made to be buried with your loved one.

I have attended two quilter's funerals where their quilts were draped around the room. It represented them very well and was very comforting. One of the funerals was my aunt who was my catalyst for quilting.

we had several of the quilts my mom had made on display at her funeral. everyone enjoyed them. and several of 'us girls' had safty pins on our shirts. as well as a couple small quilts her granddaughters had made her, keeping her 'warm.'

I'm wondering what the dimensions for such a quilt would be. Actually, it looks more like a quilt set.
