How To Make This Panel More Girl Friendly.

I like the purple/greens/golds with a punch of ruby idea.
Also.. batiks!
I've seen some really cool batiks with different patterns that you could use to theme the quilt.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you go forward!

I think I'd choose to fussy cut the panel into squares/rectangles and crazy quilt around them with a variety of white on white fabrics. Or perhaps ask your daughter what interests her about the panel... Is it the individual animals and plants or is it the picture of the time period as a whole that attracts her?

I see "girlifying" the dinosaurs as a fight with the picture.
Why not make two sides of the quilt, with the dinosaurs and the matching colors on one side and, using the same colors on the other side along with pinks and purples, making that the "girly" side? This way, she can use whichever side she feels like that day.......girly or not girly.

This would look nice with dark purple and Green and some yellow Batiks. That would bring out the panel and look girly. You could do pinwheels around the panel or 1/2 squares to make a star around the panel.

A friend gave me this fabric panel of dinosaurs and I was attempting to make it into a simple wall hanging when my daughter asked me to make into a quilt for her bed.
My question is this; she's still mainly a girly girl but wants this very drab fabric panel made into a bed quilt that's not too drab for her girly tastes. I'm coming up blank here. If I were making it for a boy, I would use lots of forest colors in it but not sure what to do with it as a girls quilt. I was thinking of using an autumn yellowish-orange-red (using the colors in the background of the panel and the reddish oranges in the dinosaurs) to brighten it up a bit and making this the center, but I'm just not entirely sure.
