Last year I had a hummingbird feeder out but no takers. This year I put a new style out, the old coke bottle into a feeder tray. Yesterday I noticed that the feeder was out of fluid. I knew it had to be going somewhere, it isn't where it could leak or drip without me seeing it. I filled it back up yesterday afternoon. This morning, let the dog out and lo and behold, I had a hummer. I tried so hard to get pics, and finally planted myself by the window and the door. Then I discovered that there are a pair of hummers. I am so jazzed, this just means the world to me. My neighbor has a garden and hasn't seen a single one, I tried a new feeder and I have a pair.

I'm so glad one fond you. Sometimes it takes time, but I think bird watching is a wonderful hobby. I made new hummingbird food this morning. I find it disappears quickly---sometimes from hummingbirds. Squirrels, bees, and occasionally another bird (like a woodpcker!) help themselves.

And rose bushes are where they like to make their nests. I don't have one.

My squirrels broke my squirrel-proof feeder. I wrote the company and they replaced it at no cost and even sent me a prepaid label to mail the broken one back. Those varmints had played with the top enough that it loosened it and the body fell and broke the lips that hold the top. So I put the new one out there and now the squirrels look so disappointed that the new one is reinforced.

You are so lucky to have them! I didn't have any this year. Thanks for sharing!

I had seen a few bees, and the squirrels can't get to this one but woodpeckers, that really surprised me.

I haven't seen them in so long near our house, at least 16 years. Finally, 2 days ago I looked out the window where I sew (window is eye level as I am sitting in the bottom of our second story home)and saw one bouncing a foot fromt he window, going from one purple flower on the hostas to another one. They're b-a-a-a-ck!

Those hummers! We have so many you have to wear a hard hat when you walk near their feeders.I keep 4 strawberry filled at all times. Now that the babies have grown up they need to start bulking up for their fall flight south. They keep us entertained every evening with their air wars.Just love them.My avatar is one that I rescued from our screen room.......

I got my first pair of hummers this year. I have always tried to entice them but to no avail. This year I finally put two small feeders out with my hanging baskets and low and behold one showed up. I got a few movies of the cuties. I know for a long time i had them way out back in the flower garden but didn't put a feeder out
