OK I checked Kay Wood, the only difference is she sewed the seam all the way. That will work with some patterns but it won't work here, as the these are sharp and little corners and might make a pucker. Kay did not mention that when you get to the seam that she pressed open, was that you have to move the seam over once you get close to the middle seam and not sew over that allowance that she pressed open. I feel safer setting in and I am sure that will work. Check out Fons and porter with the Y seams. You just can't do short cuts on some things.

YUM! Loving your idea to enlarge the pattern, and your colors are scrumptious!!

Ohhhh that is beautiful! I would not have thought to enlarge the pattern. The pattern is intriguing but I also would not take on all that hand sewing. Now I may undertake this fantastic pattern. Enlarge and machine sew! Yay

I haven't sewed for a few days but today I put another ring around the rosette. I put it on the board and couldn't believe how big it was lol. It measures 39 inches from point to point, now a ring of stars go half way around it and it done for that block. I will try to do that tomorrow. I have worked out the kinks and now everything should go much faster. I am doing this on the sewing machine.

Rosyhf - good point about difference between Kate woods method and this........

I think by you doing this the way you are, i.e., larger templates and machine sewing, you may be opening this door to others to try this technique.
keep showing progress....and do a tute.......

Wow! So pretty!!! And I'm super impressed with your cleverness in enlarging the templates, tracing the lines to not have to cut out each piece, and stitching it all by machine. Can't wait to see it keep growing!!
