Default last quilt made

This is the last quilt I have finished. It is the second one I have made from this pattern, Southwest Shamans by The Country Quilter. My husband made friends with a man and his wife while they were doing restoration on ruins at Mesa Verde National Park with The Sierra Club. Dan wanted to give them something because of all they had done for him. We decided on this wall quilt. His friends had put together a Shutterfly book of pictures of pictograms and petroglyphs of owls they had seen on their trips. I used 2 of them to create the owl appliqués. The second picture is the first quilt I had made my husband with this pattern where I made the thunderbirds as per the instructions. The friends love the quilt. I did some hand quilting to fill the space around the owls, which wasn't needed on the first quilt.

Wonderful, wonderful!! We love the southwest - RVd there the last 4 years, and you've captured the essence beautifully with your quilts. Thanks for sharing these nice works!

Both quilts are wonderful. I loved seeing the petroglyphs below Glen Cannon Dam when we were there.
