Oh my goodness, that is one spectacular quilt. It is destined to be a family heirloom. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful! Is that rickrack, or pinked edges? I would also be interested in knowing where you got the BOM patterns.

Thank you, Kathy, for posting the info on the pattern. The pieces are all pinked, including the stems. Then they are fused and machine stitched near the pinked edges. I used polyester thread to do the top-stitching (like Sulky). No doubt when and if it's washed, the edges will fray and pull up; but if I remember right, the pattern mentions this and intends for it to happen. The flowers will be a little like a rag quilt. I can imagine it and I think it will look nice.

My avatar was a small quilt made for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. It was designed from a greeting card I got when I finished my master's degree. I had permission from the artist. The earrings are made from jewelry jump hoops, so 3-D. It sold at the International Quilt Show in Houston for $72.92. Not sure why the odd amount. I was just glad someone bought it and that some money was raised for AAQI.
Thank you catrancher. Goodness that isn't a lot of dollars for so much work, but I guess any amount raised for the fight against Alzheimers has to be good. I would not know where to begin to make such a beautiful quilt.

Beautiful! I love your quilt in the making. You will have three months of blocks to look forward to when you get home. Please post a picture of the completed quilt when you are finished.
