Oh Shadow, it is absolutely gorgeous! I have my great-grandma's machine, it's in a beautiful cabinet too, made in 1911. I tried to work the treadle a few weeks ago, but it would start, then stop, start, stop. I think i may need to get a new belt for it maybe, then have hubby oil it up too. I see you have the instruction manual. I have one too, so i will have to look and see how to thread it and wind the bobbin. Is your bobbin as funny as mine??? It's like a little skinny metal rod lol

Mine doesn't have that fancy of cabinet. Amazing what a little orange oil can do. Truly once in a life time find. So very happy for you.

I just bought one like this as well, but it's a New Home, I love this style cabinet and have never seen one like it before...Mine is in really good shape as far as the cabinet is concerned, excellent shape...however, the machine head needs some TLC, parts will not move, gonna work on it to see if I can get it going...someone posted to take the heat out and remove the covers and clean/wash with kerosene, the oil well, should take care of it...I'm gonna give it a try...Congratulations on your purchase...may I ask what you paid for it?

WD-40 might also clean it. Husband had a rifle that was packed with something called Kosmolen & he used WD40 to clean it off. Just be careful & do it outside with plently of ventalation.
