YOu think it's a silly or foolish gift? Far from it!

Better you do this for her, than to get her something that you think she needs as a housewarming gift, and yet she does not want! She'll be so thankful to you ... and will be thrilled to "have to" put the binding on!

The best gift is the one you would get for yourself, and this is definitely one she wants for herself. Great idea!

There is a stuffed Very Hungry Caterpillar you could find to go with it too. I got mine at Kohl's a few months ago to go with the quilt I have planned with that fabric.

It's a lovely housewarming gift for her!
I made this quilt for my GS 2cd birthday and my daughter thinks it 's hers she loves it so much. Fond memories from the book.
    Nice quilting on your quilt.

I think it is great gift more of us need to do sensible things like this during these trying financial times.I would put the binding on so it would be totally completed. It is so much better having it done instead of it being forgotten about and becomming a UFO . If she likes plants, I always like to give a money tree plant as a house warming gift this would be bout 10 bucks ,if you feel you need to give something else.

Heavens no! That should make her very happy. You paid for what she couldn't afford. Now all the work she put into it won't just by lying around.
