Well you tell your DH I think he did a fabulous job on his first quilt! I wish my DH would come into my sewing room and help me conquer some piles of scraps. If the men can cut wood and build they can certainly cut fabrics and build a quilt too. Enjoy your time building together!

Well good for him....and for you for not pooh-poohing him away. Watch out now tho cuz he's got the BUG !!!! Hide the fabric that you're saving for that special project or you'll come home from the store one day and find he's already got it cut for his next project !!!

Good for him, how wonderful to share quilting with your hubby - watch your stash, you may have created a monster!

What a great job. My DH is very helpful with my quilting and craft needs but the only time he will sew on a machine is when he is repairing it or testing the stitch to regulate it.

He should indeed be proud of himself, but watch out: quilting is sort of like a strange disease -- once you get bitten by "the bug," there's really no cure for it. You just have to keep cutting and piecing!!

Your all's scrappy quilt is great. I am glad that he is learning to use your sewing machines and creating something. My DH will buy me most any machine I take a notion for, but he stays out of my sewing room except to try to entice me out to go for a ride or shopping. Now my son is another subject. He has learned to use and keep my Gammill up and going, and is my main quilter, but when he tries to sew on a regular machine, 1/4" seams don't come easy for him. We all have our little stories, don't we????? I love this board.

Good job on the quilt, love it when the scraps get used up.

Read this to my husband and ask if he was ready to help me quilt and he only chuckled. Guess that was a no. It has been a long winter but he loves driving the tractor and using the snow blower so I guess I'll be sewing alone for awhile yet. Good thing we can afford the fuel, we have the widest driveway and biggest parking area in the neighborhood.
