Some of it looked like polyester double knit from the 70s. YES, it's hard to work with. Don't put it in a quilt. It stretches. My friend just gave me a quilt top that her husbands GM made and it is a mixture of cotton and polyester and it is a nightmare. Nothing square about it. I think I'm going to need to give it back to her without quilting it. Just can't find a straight line anywhere in it.

Lordy that's alot of fabric. I used to have an old polyester quilt, it was just squares & tied and the batting was an old sleeping bag, and a sheet for the backing, it was heavy but perfect for camping.

What a jack pot you hit...Good deal....A friend used poly knit on the back of pinic quilts, seems to wash up nice and last forever...She used it for all her kids at the parks and camping

Double knit poly is a hard fabric to work with as it is slippery so I wouldn't use it for a quilt. I made a rag quilt with some that my mother gave me to use and she had cut all the squares and such, but if I had done a big X in the middle of the squares, then they might have been better. But it is a slippry fabric so it would probely be better for making clothing out of. Ejoy your new stash. I'd have a ball going through all that fabric. Huggies, Fay
