Wow, that border really is fabulous - the whole quilt is wonderful. I bet when your sister sees a photo of it she will wish she had it. Very, very nice work.

Nope, she didn't like the colors :). That's okay because when I finally do make one for her she had better use it!

The HST were about 8 1/4 inch unfinished. I made them in the tube fashion buy marking my fabric diagonal 6 1/2 inches and stitching 1/4 inch each side then used my Starmaker ruler to cut out the squares.

I had extra HST and tore them apart, made the 1/4 square triangle, re-sewed the HST part I needed onto the 1/4 ST and trimmed. They ended up the same size as the HST. The ribbon border is made up of 1/4 ST as one half of the HST.
