Absolutely beautiful! Yes, make sure the quilt is well marked with her name in many places. Too beautiful to get lost.

Thanks to everyone who voiced a concern about the label. There is a large one on the back with her name/room number etc on it. My mother-in-law visits the home several times a week and says that nothing has been taken as of yet and Nana has been there for more than a year, so I am optimistic that it will stay with her.

For those who asked, the patterns can be found in Carol Doak's book Easy Machine Paper Piecing. The layout was based on the Birds Of Paradise quilt on page 75 of the same book.

Beautiful! Please make sure you have plenty of name labels, our hand made items seem to disappear frequently in our nursing homes.

That is truly a beautiful quilt. Making it for your grandmother-in-law is especially nice. With her dementia she may never be able to properly thank you, but the quilt is certain to brighten her life.
