Lynnie...I going with a thin black sashing...what do you think about leaving her corner as is (all crooked) and having the blocks floating in black...I think it would be cute...I'm naming the quilt "Journey" or maybe, "Life's Journey"...and the wonkiness of the whole quilt reflects that while life isn't perfect and isn't always what we plan, it can still be beautiful...somehow, these floating blocks set by her daughter just seem to fit...

Sharonquilts...we did something similar with our kids...Crater of Diamonds in AR...my son dug a whole nearly as deep as his height...my daughter had seen Snow White too many times and seemed to think that large cut diamonds and other gems would just be lying on the ground; plus the day before we went to a small campground where you could find big, beautiful quartz crystals easily...my husband dug faithfully and I napped between the furrows...we'd been camping and traveling for days...that vacation and the "diamonds" are still a fond memory for all 4 of us.

What a lovely sewing companion you have there. The expression on her face says it all.

When I scrolled down and saw her smiling face I had to laugh - out loud. She's so cute and I love her happy little face!
