So sorry to hear of the bleeding. I always suppect dark colors and reds. Just remember to always use color catchers.

Hi Linda, Not too close, I think we're about 80 miles east of you.....we live in Hartselle, about 40 miles south of the AL/TN state line, and I-65 is just a mile from us. So if you follow I-65 past Hartselle, you're within 1 mile of my house!

You did a wonderful job and speaking for myself, something I would never try even for myself. I just am in awe of what you did! Wouldn't it have done the same thing when she washed it? It was worth the original price and more if you asked me. You did a great job.

i think you did absolutely incredible considering the mess it came to you in!!! that red sure does stick out like a sore thumb but maybe thats just my eyes! don't fret it, i believe after all the care you have gone to to try and rectify this that your reputation should only improve over this! and you are also one brave gal to take that on!!

Glad she wasn't upset! I would have been thrilled and happy with the wonderful quilt! A great save....I have a whole bunch of those my friends have been finding for me at garage sales!

Hi Froggiey, yes I think it would have bled whoever washed it. But since it wasn't my quilt to begin with, I shouldn't have done it. I was just trying to do her a favor and try to get rid of some rust stains. And in my opinion, I think the original price was just right, but the experience is priceless! So I learned something, made some money, had a good time (at first anyway!), then had a good cry. And something I wasn't fishing for was compliments, but they are greatly appreciated! Thank you all so much for making me feel better!

It's a good learning experience. You did do a wonderful job and if you didn't wash it, it just would have done it to her when she washed it. Atleast you know some of the tricks to try to get it out.
