Thank you, everyone, for your comments -- all good input.

Actually, I've turned the 'diamonds' the other direction now. Can't wait to finish it and post photos, hopefully before "next year" (only a month away - yikes!).

Thank you!! Your input and encouragement are much appreciated. I bought the backing yesterday so it'll soon be prove-up time. I'll post photos, of course. This will be my third quilt so guess I can't use the newbie excuse anymore... :o}
