Pam, I think that border will look very nice.

My time 03-24-2011 09:59 AM

It looks great with or without a border. If it's large enough I would call a day.You did a beautiful job, I love the movement in it.

Delilah, you are so sensitive - good question. I think loved ones will wait for the right completion date but I imagine finishing something so complicated is a great relief. What a gorgeous quilt. I agree give it its due!

khlrkat 03-24-2011 10:12 AM

WOW! that is very pretty love the color

Lightening57 03-24-2011 10:21 AM

BZEQUILTER 03-24-2011 10:23 AM

I have been seeing your post and the progress of this quilt, it is very nice--I think I need to do one!! I vote for the borders, I think it would give it a nice finish, and I always think bigger is better!! What if she gets a bigger bed??

RuthFru 03-24-2011 11:06 AM

I think it looks fine as is but if your daughter wants the border it would also look good and you will probably like it more. It is beautiful.

Iluv2quilt 03-24-2011 11:17 AM

Gorgeous work! I can't believe you did this without a pattern, it turned out beautiful, nice work!

k3n 03-24-2011 11:39 AM

Pam that border idea is perfect - love those fabrics and their darkness will frame and contain that beautiful pattern. I say go for it - all that work so far deserves a top class finish!

jlm5419 03-24-2011 11:52 AM

Add black as the binding.

Ditto!

SaraSewing 03-24-2011 12:00 PM

The design is spactular, totally accented wonderfully by the browns. Great job. Yes, I'd buckle down with a border (but you need a week off first!)

Olivia's Grammy 03-24-2011 12:05 PM

WOW, that's beautiful and looks very complicated.

cmagee84 03-24-2011 12:18 PM

NUTMEG10 03-24-2011 12:39 PM

What a beautiful quilt. I love the colors. You are smart to have done this with out a pattern.

ann clare 03-24-2011 12:42 PM

WOW Stunning

joyce888 03-24-2011 01:42 PM

It's a beautiful quilt with or without the border. I would think about adding a border if your daughter decides on a larger bed in the future and if she wants to use as a bed spread.

bjcombs2022 03-24-2011 02:11 PM

I love this! Let us know what you decide!

debbieoh 03-24-2011 02:17 PM

roseOfsharon 03-24-2011 04:05 PM

Totally beautiful..Love it.

Rock Lady 03-24-2011 05:32 PM

Looking at your quilt just boggles my mind. How in the world did you do that without a pattern? Are you ever talented or what. I envy your ability to create.

honeygram15 03-24-2011 05:40 PM

The quilt is beautiful.

pittsburgpam 03-24-2011 06:08 PM

It's really not hard to do it without a pattern when I have EQ7. All I need to know is the size of block it is based on. Make 4" 4-patch blocks (made up of 2 1/2" squares), and 4" HSTs. I drew the pointed triangle and wedge blocks in EQ and printed them, then the flying geese.

All of the 4-patch (LOTS of them) were done by sewing two jelly roll strips together, cutting them into 2 1/2" sections, then sewing two different sections together.

It doesn't take a pattern to tell me how to do all of the individual little blocks and EQ7 tells me the yardage needed.

GramaLaura 03-24-2011 06:28 PM

BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL :D

Lucy90 03-24-2011 06:58 PM

Beautiful quilt. I would put a border on it. It doesn't have to be fancy, it could be a solid or a print. It would look more finished with a border. Just my opinion

MoMoSews 03-24-2011 07:01 PM

WOW!!!

Happy Tails 03-24-2011 07:06 PM
