This is a beautiful colorway.

I recently saw one at the Amish quilt shop I buy supplies from (dirt cheap!). It was in a blue colorway with a white background. There were swans, butterflies, and birds hand quilted into the white. It was fabulous. I wanted to take pictures, but didn't want to affend the wonderful lady that answered all my silly questions about it. Besides, she gave me a gigantic donut she'd just removed from the fryer and glazed. :)

Cathe, I've been thinking about this for a long time (or at least when I saw your beautiful work) and now that I’m starting to work with circles (curves) I think I’ll think some more. Maybe in the future…

I found this site with directions, are they close to what you used? It keeps redirecting me to another page, but should work:

I also saw this site with a mini Dahlia and liked the results too:

Wonderful! You are a talented color and fabric chooser!

Cathe, That is just beautiful!! I have a question for you as you seem to be wise in these matters. How can you tell if a pattern is copyrighted if it doesn't say copyrighted on the pattern? Usually sites have protection to make it so that you can't copy if your not supposed to don't they? I would like to know how to tell the difference.

Beautiful quilt!

How about this template? http://tinyurl.com/3lpfvy "Not So Giant Dahlia Template Set"

Any idea how easy this might be to use and figure out? I'm not a very experienced quilter but can usually follow directions. This size seems more appealing to me. I love dahlias!
