Well, imho I would set it aside for a time. Absence sometimes makes the heart grow fonder. But I would finish it. Only because you have put so much into it already. It is beautiful and there are plenty of people who would be proud to have it. All that said, I am a FIRM believer that quilting is more about the process than the product. If I'm not being challenged and/or having fun, it's not worth it. After all, we do this because we love it. If we aren't loving it, DON'T DO IT! If you really are done with it, find another quilter and let her finish it. Then brush off the strings and move on to something you will have fun with. There! I said it. We all have permission to not finish some things!!

It's one of those lengthy projects which will bring you great joy when it's finished---not only because it's done, but because it will be a beautiful piece of work in honor of a beautiful country's democracy for all.

I made the same quilt (Women's Voices) in 2003 and absolutely love it, BUT I changed the sashing to a darker color which makes the blocks pop much better than that lighter sashing. You might try that.

Ask for 9 volunteers to make a block apiece and send them the appropriate fabric. Then you will have all 25!!! I would be happy to do one :)

It's going to be a beautiful quilt when finished. Maybe a break for now and start on something that will make you happy, something fun.. then you can go back to the other.

Thanks for sharing your story... I think "show and tell" helps sometimes. I am excited that you have such talents and hopefully you will show us the completed project. Don't push yourself, just relax and look forward to your next show and tell. I love it.

I agree with some of the others... maybe it would help to put it away for a while (have you ever heard of a quilter without at least one WIP?) and give yourself some distance. It is really lovely, and I suspect you'll love it, once it's finished, but you're just tired of it now.
